Random noises through Mac's miniToslink output

Featured Replies

So I'm using my MacBook's miniToslink port to connect to my DAC. I've been using this set up for two days now. But today, all of a sudden, I would get random noises--it's not clipping--just digital noise, which goes away in five seconds or so. The noise shows up randomly.

FYI: I'm using Play as my player, and I set the output to 16/44.1 in AudioMidi utility.

What else is going on in your system at the time you hear the noise? Is it under heavy load from some other process?
