I have a bunch of flac files I want to convert to alac. I dl Max and it will transcode to aiff. It is asking me to choose linear pcm 8, 16, 24, 32 bit big endian integer. What should I choose?

Mike most likely that is word length if you want them to be iPhone compatible then go 16. I think I have used switch in the past for this but I do not recall it asking that.

Mike, if you're trying to convert it to ALAC on Max, add one of the MPEG4 Audio (it's the first one, IIRC) option under "Formats" in the preferences and it will give you a choice for ALAC.

That was my goal but I wasn't sure if the MPEG4 Audio was ALAC. I will give that a try on the next one.
