May 25, 200917 yr The obvious solution to using US voltage electronics in Japan is a step up transformer. Or a different AC adapter if that's possible. But say I wanted to use this in Japan. Is it doable without a step up transformer? The IEC inlet on top right says EMI Filter 115V/250V~ 50/60Hz
May 25, 200917 yr I can't view imageshack pictures from work, but if it's rated for 115/250v 50/60hz it'll work fine on 100v
May 25, 200917 yr It will work, but the regulators may be running at the very bottom of their regulation range. So noise and other problems might show up.

May 26, 200917 yr Would it be somewhat easily/affordably moddable? sure, find a transformer that has 110v primaries with the same PCB footprint and pinout as the Talema.
May 26, 200917 yr sure, find a transformer that has 110v primaries with the same PCB footprint and pinout as the Talema. Also, maybe you could substitute low dropout regulators, but I'd rather just use another trafo. Those are um, challenging to remove, as there are 8 pins on the trafo that have to all be heated up at once to remove them.
