Not sure if this is the right section as it's not in the field, but does this look like a good microphone position for when I'm recording/streaming? Is the pop filter setup correctly? Should I be using the foam cover or is that only for outside/wind? I have my old phone setup as my camera and the pixel 6 does an excellent job. Mostly just wanted the arm to hold the microphone and my phone and to allow me to lower my monitor (the phone used to be setup below it attached to the stand), but it came with some accessories. Came with a shock mount as well but that seems to be for a different (larger diameter) microphone.

As it says in the title, think it could be a fun way to share vinyl while streaming. Thoughts? Any info on them? Something like they use for the STAX recording. Can I just use a bust and get microphones? Is it that simple? I have a Behringer DEQ2496 with a room analysing microphone for what its worth. I also need a more localized (just my voice) streaming microphone, Anyone have experience with BEACN? Or best to stick with Shure?

Some of the other places this topic is discussed have turned into something of a shit show, so I've added this. This forum may get some new members joining, so try and cut them some slack for a bit as they get acclimatized to what head-case can be like.

it seems that most of the field recording genre falls into the following categories live concert recording (your own band and others) birding/nature recording (an application similar to, yet different from live concert recording in regard to typical SPL often dictating the type of gear used) ENG people, who often need to push the edge of whats commonly available to do their job what do you do? what gear and techniques do you use that get the job done? what is missing from your gear and/or technique that others may be able to help with?
