Happy Birthday Ed!
-
I was kind of snippy this morning when I wrote this, because I kind of like to read some interesting threads before starting off to work. This morning this lame thread was just par for the coarse, and it's been happening more and more.
I still like to read what's going on over there, and I'm not trying to put it down, but sometimes there is such a rut of useless keyboard vomiting before something interesting pops up.
I hardly think of myself as an old timer at just over 2 years of membership, and I won't drone on about the good old days when every post was informative, but I think it tends to come in waves. I'm sure there'll be a wave of good threads eventually.

My stands all sound completely different, and I taylor them to the specific headphone they'll be holding.
-
The other place has been awash of inane useless drivel lately.

The only post worth reading was Wayne's sarcastic reply, but it seems this is the only crap being posted lately. Granted there doesn't seem to be a ton of useful headphone info posted here every day, but at least the threads have some value, even if only for their bull whip sharp sarcastic wit.

Not to start a whole big debate, but different woods most certainly have differing resonant values, therefore can sound different in certain applications. For example Red Spruce was favored by Martin guitars for it's resonant qualities. You can take a long piece of Red Spruce and tap it and it will make a ringing sound.

Artist: Kris Kristofferson
Song: Sunday Morning Coming Down.
Album: What Love Can Do
"Well I woke up Sunday morning,
With no way to hold my head that didn't hurt.
And the beer I had for breakfast wasn't bad,
So I had one more for dessert.
Then I fumbled through my closet for my clothes,
And found my cleanest dirty shirt.
An' I shaved my face and combed my hair,
An' stumbled down the stairs to meet the day."

I don't care either way about cinnamon, and I don't like sweet cereals, but your blatant snubbing of Cheerios was more than I could take.
And we call it 2008 even though they don't take office until 2009, because the vote is in 2008. It could be epic Duggeh, just think...a Black man, a Woman and a Scotsman for President.
-
Yes, very similar here in the US as well.
-
And I cannot abide very sweet or oddly flavoured cereals. That includes Frosties and Cinnamon Grahams, or Cheerios.
That's just un-American. I take back my nomination for you for Prsident 2008 until you rethink the cereal issues at hand!

Does Chuck Norris send Valentines gifts?

Corn Flakes, Special K, Cheerios & Corn Chex. All with whole milk and no added sugar sprinkled on them.

That is the bravest man ever!

I purchased this headphone last year from http://www.headphone.com. Do any of you know of this very detailed and informative website?
Never heard of it. Looks interesting though, I'll check it out later, but I gotta go tyll a floor.

Happy Birthday!
-
I want to live in Seattle.
-
I'd say shiver me timbers, laddy, and man the mainsail, for there be scurvy dogs on the horizon, arrr, but I've seen what kind of custom title that can lead to.
OK, now I get it!

The name of his business seems to be S2 Audio.
Thanks again, I popped out for a bit.

Steve, this is Headcase. Everything is kosher here except being an asshat. So don't worry about HF MOT things, say what you want. The worst that will happen is some joker will respond with:
MOTMOTMOTMOTMOTMOTMOTMOT
OK cool!
I'm still learning things over here. Still not sure what the pirate speak is, but I really do like the freedom over here, and the sarcasm is right up my alley.
-
Oh wow, the stax stands compress the pads? Thats bad. Bad stax!!
Steve, I might end up sending you an email then, see if you can do a similar, simple stand that doesn't compress the pads.
Sure, drop me a line anytime.
Thanks PFKMan23, I wasn't sure if that'd be kosher from me.

do u accept customer wood?
Sorry buddy, I'm straight.
It actually depends on the wood I guess. I'm kind of a wood snob, and I don't like to bother with most common woods. Also understand that in a stand like those I make, materials will be the smaller percentage of the final cost, it's the labor that adds up.
That being said I'm always willing to discuss it, but PM would be more appropriate.
Did your top stand crumble/chip away?
Those are natural occlusions in the Maple Burl. Most woodworkers value them, as opposed to working around them. It's just an aesthetic choice, but I happen to really like them.
-
I don't quite get the sarcasm here (maybe that is what distinguishes this place from "the other place..").
The sarcasm is free over here, so it's served up hot and heaping! Oh and you can ask for seconds without having to stand in line again!
-
It's not overly pretty, I'll give you that.
Just keep poking around, maybe you'll run into something you like better. The Deltas are relatively easy to come by.

You were brought here by a guy pretending to be a girl.
What did I miss? Someone fill me in, I had to go pee.
New Emoticon? Go Tyll!!! :D

I have to agree here. If you were secure enough in your own masculinity it wouldn't bother you in the least.
Try on some of your Mom's underwear, put on some Ricky Martin videos and see if you get all tingly.
