  1. I am one of those who did not care for the W5000 either, heck I thought the W1000 sounded better at almost half the price.. I realize there is a lot of anti Ultrasone in some venues but have you listened to the Ed. 8? I have seen them go for under $1,000 although not often. I also like the Denon's a lot specially w/ the MarkL Mods and wood cups (I am in trouble now for saying so). If you would like to explore the very low end (price wise) how about the Equation Eartool RP21? Good luck in your search.

  2. Took the day off since the President is scheduled to have a fund raiser at Gloria Stefan's house (she lives across the waterway) and I did not want to risk the traffic jam on the causeway's leading to Miami Beach. So I basically did nothing at all which in my book is a good thing. ;)

  3. Woke up at about 7:35am and visited a few forums. Afterward went for my morning walk with the wife and then went for breakfast at a local restaurant down the street. Then off to buy some "stuff" to unclog an slow draining shower, finally to a music store to buy a few Cd's.

  4. I just went on a cd buying run! 11 cd's for me and 2 for the wife.

    01. Hilton Ruiz - Doing It Right

    02. Chet Baker - Sessioni In Italia

    03. Candy Dulfer - Live At Montreaux

    04. Rachelle Ferrell - Individuality (can I be me?)

    05. Incognito - Eleven

    06. Incognito - 100 And Rising

    07. Incognito - Inside Me

    08. Heavy Shift - The Conversation

    09. Valerie Joyce - The Look Of Love

    10. Fourplay - X

    11. Mindi Abair - It Just Happens That Way

  5. ^ Interesting observation morphsci, as a past owner of a PinkFloyd modded V3 and owner of an also PinkFloyd modded V2 I can not agree with you. But that is OK, we all hear differently.

DefectiveAudioComponent, IMO the bass is one of the best attributes of the X-Can V2 and V3. Granted my impression are w/ modded units using the Little Pinkie PSU. BTW, I found the Solo SRGII w/ PSU1 a better match with the HE5 than the EF5. Good luck.

  6. Every properly damped ortho I've listened to needed lots of power. I doubt the Xcan would even come close to opening the LCD-1 up.

Actually a lot depends on how loud you listen and if your source can output 2 Vrms. In my case the X-Can V2 using a Little Pinkie drives the HE5 very nicely (I listen at low volume). The X-Can V2 put out 1 Watt and the V3 1.5 Watts.
