  1. I own an NM24 DAC by Monarchy Audio. This unit sports a tube dac, an ss dac, and a tube line stage and has been my main dac for about 19 months. So far I have been very satisfied and recently I was thinking of a way to further improve its performance. Thus I thought of getting the Monarchy DIP/Upsampler.

The DIP/Upsampler Combo sells for $399 and its specs are ...

    Decodes 16 to 24 Bits

    Inputs: Opto, Coax, AES/EBU Balanced

    Outputs: Coax, AES/EBU Balanced

Upsamples from 44.1 to 48 or 96 Khz (user selectable)

    Outputs 24 Bits

Has anyone here used one? Thanks.

  2. Fitz, you should be a brain surgeon! The skill and "cojones" you are showing is beyond belief. As stated by a far more eloquent person than I, the fact is I am damn lucky you are working on both of my K1000. Most anyone else would have given up and way sooner. Yes, I am very thankful for the work you are doing.

BTW, I looked at one of your pictures and is there another piece of metal stock in the driver? I have copied the picture you took and I have placed a pink arrow to the "stuff". Oh, and you must have eyes like a tiger to see all of the small stuff inside the driver.

  3. Which model are you working on? The original MiniBox-E or the later version MiniBox-E+. The original was 12VDC and the later I believe 18VDC. Good luck and glad you found the charger.

I do not have the schematic, hope the enclosed two pics help. BTW the backsid picture is of the MiniBox-E.

  4. Went out for a walk in the beautiful weather we are having, upon my return found my iPod locked so I had to restore it. Currently loading it with about 5,700 Apple Lossless files, I figure another 3-4 hours to go before they are all loaded.

  5. For those using instant hot water or whole house hot water systems be sure the hot water does not travel through copper piping specially old piping soldered w/ lead base solder ... the hot water will pull more of the lead and copper and it will end up inside you and your family.
