Hmm. I've avoided buying or even hearing this because I liked Underdow and I really liked AEnima and was utterly disappointed with Lateralus. When I buy a metal album, I want it to rock, not be a ponderous pseudo-tribute to bands like Yes (who I also happen to like, sometimes). So, what is this new one? Is it more of the ponderous, nearly hook-less exploration of Lateralus, or the tighter more hook-driven metal of Undertow or AEnima? There seems to be an inconsistency of opinion on this...

I would guess it will have a better clock circuit, since they're clearly aiming it at being connected to serious HT rigs. I don't think that was really the focus of the AEXP, which put a premium on size and having probably too much functionality.
