Can't say I didn't giggle a little. I'd have planar speakers if it weren't for the fact that my dorm room's tiny. Oh yeah, and I'm hobo-grade poor.
  2. Coolios, good luck with your rebuild. Indeed, I likely overdid the tensioning on the diaphragms. I'm sure that they'll loosen over time though, since 1.4-micron mylar quickly goes into plastic deformation when subject to even moderate force. I hope to hear how the Seikis compare to your lambdas, since I've read that they're comparable. My nooblet ears are still sailing through the multiverses of different headphone setups, and more often than not I have to listen vicariously.
  3. AND SO IT BEGAN It took only a year for this idea to become a destroyer of worlds. Cool. I'm rehousing my T50rp in PVC pipe end caps. Some black satin spray-paint should un-welfare them nicely.
  4. I recently fixed and have listened at length to a pair of these. Review: Refurbished Micro Seiki MX-1 Electrostatic Headphones (MS-2 headphones & MP-1 amplifier) - Head-Fi.org Community I used 1.4 micron mylar stretched super tight, and the bass rolls off quite a bit. I'm not sure if Turner Toys would ship mylar to Europe, perhaps you could ask?
