Went to a place called SmokeJack in Alpharetta, GA tonight for dinner. Had a combo plate of smoked brisket, pulled pork and burnt ends. Accompanied by cheesy grits and fried pickles. A couple of Terrapin beers, and for authenticity a PBR. Food and beer was excellent. Finished with a Classic Cask 17 yr bourbon that I quite liked. Absorbine is a happy boy.

So quit slacking and get over here and help me position my new speakers. Kidding - glad to hear you got good news Jacob.

Newcastle Brown Ale after some less than stellar microbrews at 5Seasons in Atlanta.

Nothing. Sitting on the fucking plane waiting for a fucking gate. Urgghhh.

Bought a bottle of this yesterday at Square One, distilled on the premises. Much higher in botanicals than, say, Bluecoat. Had G&T last night, wasn't thrilled. But a dirty martini now with Dolin Blanc is smooth and tasty.

Survived Cabin Fever. Smoked Porter, RyePA, Coffee Stout and Oatmeal Stout were my favorites. I managed to stay fairly non-drunk. Debbie, on the other hand... And if you're in St. Louis, visit Schlafly's Bottle Works. Big bar, big souvenir shop, big flavor.

Smoked Porter is my fav so far. Tastes like smoked ham and beer.

9 or 10 samples down. Nose is running but what a great day.

Thanks to all for birthday wishes. I'm in Edwardsville, IL visiting Debbie's brother. His birthday is Sunday. We went out for Mexican tonight. 24 oz. Amber Dos Equis, great food and finished with Don Julio Anejo for sipping. Tomorrow is Cabin Fever at Schlafly - 18 beers to sample. Thanks to Debbie and her brother John for a great night. Chilling now with an O'Fallon Sticke It To the Man.

Tickets for Schlafly's Cabin Fever event, a winter beer tasting in St. Louis this Saturday. We're going to visit Debbie's brother and thought standing outside in 29 degree weather drinking beer would be an awesome thing to do...
