  1. There are a lot of different techniques you can find by googling. This situation happened to me once, and I succeded using a technique that surprisingly I cant' find anywhere: I put a very small amount of loctite on the top of a flat barrel of a diameter slightly smaller that the tap, and carefully introduce it into the hole until it makes contact with the broken tap. Then I wait 2 min while maintaining the pressure to make sure the two are glued. Then I unscrew gently...voilĂ . Problem is you can glue everything together, and then you are screwed, but if you are careful enough, and have a steady hand, it should work.
  2. Boards received! Can't wait to see it in action Thanks Kerry! By the way, have you thought about creating a relay based input/output selector board that matches the dimensions of the digital attenuator? That would allow to stack them up in order to minimize space and signal path. It would simplify metal work as well (less drilling). It could also nicely benefit all the hassle of the attenuator implementation: using same power supply, and same encoding method (arduino).
  3. It shouldn't rotate freely. As Hakko and Aoyue tips are normally interchangeable, my guess would be your tip is defective or fake. I already had an experience wih a fake Aoyue tip (Different body geometry, and the tip wouldn't work after 4-5 solder joints), which is quite amazing when you consider Aoyue is already a copy of Hakko. You can't even have genuine counterfeits these days.
  4. this looks fantastic. I am amazed at how fast you conducted this project.
  5. Don't get too carried away. Is that cheap neutrik RCAs I see? "Ultimate" you say? And I am sure there isn't even inert gas inside the big pipes...
  6. Hi everyone! What best way to start than presenting some of my work? This is some ICs I made some months ago. Furutech fp-126 connectors, Neotech UPOCC solidcore copper wire, cardas quad eutectic solder, techflex tubing.
  7. Hi everyone, this is my first post here, though I have been reading Head-Case for quite some time. Would you consider shipping to France? If yes, I am definitely in for 2 boards assembled, plus relays. regards, sam
