  1. Rather than take a shot at such an obvious and easy target as Valentine's (Beheading) Day, I'm instead going to post one of my favorite love songs. The first part is ostensibly about being wired to the gills on heroin. The second is a brilliant and sardonic call-and-response of optimistic speculation followed by cynical counterpoint. The lyrics are set against the lush and ethereal production for which Jason Pierce is so famous. As a whole the song holds a tenuous balance between great hope and deep doubt, a lot like what it feels to be in love. Lame, Very Cool, AWESOME, What?, Lame. Extra Lame, Okay, AWESOME, Eh, What?
  2. Apropos to nothing, it's good to see you posting Ken. No matter what time I've logged into Steam the last week, it said you're playing Bejewled. I was beginning to worry that you'd become an ex-parrot in front of the computer.
  3. Steam's Midweek Madness sale is Killing Floor at 85% off, bringing it to $2.99(!)
  4. Oh, man. This is comedy gold. Seriously.
  5. Man, look at this hipster with his stupid soul patch.
  6. NERDS! Pac Man rendered in Terraria.
  7. Silly me. I thought "stats" was short for "electrostatic [headphones]."
  8. Who Is Paul McCartney?! "Iain and Georgie spent this morning in the warehouses drawing samples from the casks shortlisted to become this year’s Feis bottling!"
  9. WAT.
  10. Most of the clips I post on Slow forum are 5 minutes or under. This one is something like 84 minutes. That said, it's well worth your while. Two of the greatest minds (and wits!) of our time have an amazing conversation.
  11. Greeks take over a television station in Crete.
  12. "Later" it is. Here's three versions of "Helpless Automation" which is arguably my favorite track off Business As Usual: Original 1980s CD: 1992 re-issue: 2009 remaster: That last one is ...unpleasant looking. I did say it sounds "really good" in my post from months ago. I'm going to need to re-visit all three and see if that sentiment holds up. I don't have a original 1980s CD of their followup Cargo, but the 1992 and 2009 editions above are both part of a 2CD that included their first two ablums. Here's "It's A Mistake" from the second disc of both: 1992 editon: 2009 remaster:
  13. Pew! Pew! Pew!
