Residents go to extreme measures to save their homes

Saw a rough cut of the movie for which I recorded dialog. Not bad, but it needs a lot of work still. The two post pivotal scenes look (and SOUND) pretty good. Got paid for a photo shoot I did in early January ...via PayPal e-check, which takes 3-5 business days to clear. Also got an impatient text from the client about an hour after he sent payment. Dude took 4 1/2 months to pay and used a method that won't clear until the end of next week. Also, my sodding blackberry died today, or at least became majorly ill. After two hours of futzing with it, I've got it to boot again. Next step is to back up my data and then test it out. Good thing I'm not trying to do a radio show tonight.

Now running a fresh intall of 10.6.7. I didn't automagically transfer my user data, and have been moving the key bits manually. That's been an epic PITA, but thusfar not a single kernel panic (/me knocks wood.) Still running FFX 3.6 as well. I'll try FFX4 tomorrow, but I'm really wondering if it isn't the culprit.

I ran memtest all overnight, and it completed 6 passes with no errors. I reboot and in less than 15 minutes I get a kernel panic. I only had two apps running: Mail and FFX. I'm beginning to suspect it's sodding FFX4. I've downgraded to 3.6. I'm going to test it for a bit and see if I get and kernel panics. My IT/Mac guru friend has suggested doing a disk wipe and reinstall of the OS. I still have a couple months of AppleCare left. I've got a short laundry list of issues, so it's not beyond the realm of possibility I could bring the lappy in for servicing (and, ahem, cleaning).
