  1. Thanks for your inputs. In my defense, I did lurk here for a while before I registered, I was hoping that would count for something. But anyway, I'll come back in 2 weeks or so. If you wonder why, that is when I have to decide to return the HE-500. In the mean while if you have any opinion, please post away.
  2. HE-500. Actually, I made 1 post about I joined, and the the other 9, all here, including this one, were replies on the replies, just like this one. If newbies is expected to ignore replies, I'm sorry I don't know about that. And I am under the impression that this is a nonsense thread, hence my less than a turd comments, on other topic I'll promise to post stuffs that worth as much a turd, or two. However, I am indeed lazy to quote or multi quote when replying. That said, I did make another post on the headphone subforum, on that one you can you can shoot me.
  3. HD650 used to be the headphone to get. Everyone seem to have one at one point or another. I have heard on various occassion and I am quite familiar with the sound signature. However I have not own one, I had always planned to get one, however throughout all these time, I never got around to do it for one reason or another. Recently, I considered getting it again. However again I ended up with something else, the HE-500. I compared them, along with LCD-2, the two orthos sounded better by a significant margin to me, which made sense considering they also cost more. There is something that I have always been wondering all these years, I kept hearing people saying these scales well. What exactly is this? Does this still hold true in the the age of thousand dollars headphone? And by it "scales well", does it mean that it improves a whole lot by driving it balanced? Or simply high end equipment in general? Although I consider myself rather familiar with its sound, I've not heard them with really high end equipments (the best being out of Naim DAC and Beyerdynamic A1 headphone amp), and of course, I have not heard any of the "magic" that is being described. Is it still worth building a system with the HD650? I don't plan on going balance though. FWIW, I also prefered HD600 over HD650 with the Naim DAC and Beyerdynamic A1 headphone amp. With Rega DAC and Beta 22 (3 channel), the HE-500 sounded good to me. However, sometimes orthos in general gave me the feeling that fine details are being smoothed over.
  4. Happy is good. I have my new toy wrapped around my head right now, so I think I am happy.
  5. Thank you, what an a honor. I am looking forward to be satisfied. Ok, first question. Is this a gay forum? In case you missed it, I am new here, and I think it's important I have the right perspective.
  6. Btw, you are misquoting me, I did not say, nor implied, I "curious" Fitz, whatever that means. But then how do I know that I am misquoted?
  7. I have no idea what Michael Bolton sings. But then I am largely ignorant to pop culture in general, present or past. I used to quite enjoy Celine Dion, but now all her song sounded alike and sleepy.
  8. I'm curious, how does it feel like? I don't think I've ever had a piƱa colada.
  9. Btw, I am not in the Navy. However I actually do wear uniform at work, or should I not reveal this?
  10. Thank you. Not only I read that, I read that even before I registered. After I read that I think it is the right forum for me.
  11. Today, I registered myself in this forum.
