  1. Impressions?

Very good. I stumbed across them when I was doing my monthly downloads from Emusic. The lead sing, Edera, has a fantastic voice...very sensual. I don't know if I would classify them as metal....but more hard rock or maybe pop metal. Think of Nightwish with a little less polish...

  2. It's back up...

ALO USB interconnect - Head-Fi: Covering Headphones, Earphones and Portable Audio

"I had originally posted this as a open thread but sadly there were a few people who were posting negative comments and twisting words and generally being difficult. The issue of a high end audio version of a USB cable is very charged. Moreover there is a lot of interpretation on the design and what it "should" be etc.. I will post more detail as they become available with regards to the USB cables we have to offer.

  3. I found out at the beginning of this year that I had diabetes. Since January, I have lost 40 lbs thru modifying my eating habits and limiting my carb intake to 60 grams per meal. I'm almost down to my highschool weight and I feel fucking fantastic physically. And with the extra energy and the increase in self esteem I have gained from this, mentally, I feel great too.

I still have the verboten foods...I just have them less often and of course less of them.

  4. I paid half the price of a new pico, so no complaints here. The sr60's match better with the compass than the pico because the sr60's are bright and the pico is a brighter amp/dac. The compass is fuller sounding and easy to listen to. It doesn't make for a good combo with the ms2's, which makes me fear it won't be good with hf-2's either.

    Biggie.

You should try the Sun HDAM. It is bright and punchy and sounds pretty good with HD650s. After listening to the Sun HDAM for a week straight, I tried the stock Earth HDAM and it sounded muffled and there was much less bass kick. The reason I was interested in the compass in the first place was the ability to roll HDAMs or other opamps to change the sound up whenever I wanted a different sound. I like it very much.

  5. I'm so glad my kids are out of the car seat stage. We went with the all in one systems (bases, car seat, stroller) by Graco. I don't recall the name, but it was very handy detaching the car seat from the base and simply loading it onto the stroller.

  6. I emailed Kingwa that DHL suck anyway, and he should ditch them, and he said he will use EMS from now on.

So, is this the official word on shipping providers for Audio-gd? Will those of us expecting a replacement Compass be getting them shipped via EMS?

  7. Pfff -- I'm 46 dude.

Actually, if you discuss metal on a metal forum, your biological clock actually starts working reverse, if it doesn't kill you.

    Excellent!

I just picked up an album from a female fronted band called Diluvium titled Aurora. Very good vocals...kind of a groovy type of metal. At times she sounds like Alicia Keyes.

  8. I like Naglfar's Pariah album. Good, heavy, dark metal. I need to check if they have anything newer out.

I'll also have to check out The Crown and Gojira.

If you're into Tristania, give a listen to Thy Sins of Thy Beloved. A bit darker than Tristania and Sirenia. I do have to say that Tristania is probably my favorite goth metal band...especially their early stuff when Morten Veland was still with them. Sirenia's new album is out...will have to pick that one up for sure.

Beseech and Eternal Oath are also some good metal bands. IMHO, every album is good.

Jeebus...I'm 43 years old and discussing metal on an internet forum.;D
