  1. Not to start a whole big debate, but different woods most certainly have differing resonant values, therefore can sound different in certain applications. For example Red Spruce was favored by Martin guitars for it's resonant qualities. You can take a long piece of Red Spruce and tap it and it will make a ringing sound.

most certainly. the type of wood as well as where it was on a tree trunk affects the sound in instruments like the guitar, violin, cello etc.

however i think the light hearted nature of wood in this thread was more to do with headphone stands :)

at least that is my understanding...

  2. Whole milk takes cereal to a completely different level.

yes, nothing quite hits the spot like whole milk

sadly dairy has been giving me acne breakouts =(

the best alternative i can find is Vitasoy Soy Milky

don't know if you guys have it where you are, but sometimes it almost tastes and feels like real milk

  3. To be fair, this could be meant as a grape skin chopper.

That thing would actually be really good for grating parmesan onto pasta.

    i thought so too

    Does it come with roofies?

this one didn't... which leads me to believe the suspicions that it's a kitchen accessory

  5. Hi, George, welcome. A physicist, huh? If you have any science jokes, I'd appreciate them. I collect them. So far, I have one:

Atom: Officer, officer, I've been in an accident!

    Cop: What happened?

Atom: I collided with another atom, and it took off with one of my electrons!

    Cop: Are you sure?

    Atom: Positive!

    wow, that's so bad

    and btw welcome!
