  1. Transformers have real capacitance and inductance, semiconductors have far higher speed as a result than that when properly driven. Semiconductors have neglible inductance in this situation, maybe yes if you're talking about GHz range... I want to see that transformer reach GHz
  2. Its hilarious how deaf the guy must be in order to think that its anything close to decent... (going off the review) Some say I'm not "audiophilic" enough but I had the misfortune of seeing one of these on the shelves and grabbed a L300 just to make it easier for it. Nope, I rather listen to a 252S and I don't even remotely like a 252
  3. Making good output transformers for tubes and not even estats have a pi chart of choices to make 1. Good Frequency response & low distortion 2. Cheap 3. Small You can only pick 2. Using a cheaper core than absolute ultimate ends in tears. Even if your core is very big but cheap the frequency response is still bad. And even in most cases, you can't have expensive and small, just doesn't exist And even the best core isn't a surefire way to make a good output transformer, winding method being also one of them If you think all that metal somehow is faster than just raw amplification then you know nothing about transformers
  4. I am already buying most from digikey, mouser will cost me extra to ship. And generally digikey is what I use, due to pricing and support
  5. Yet another week of looking SiC fets and they're just as unavailable as ever... Even the ‎SCT2H12NZGC11 has gone up in price and every damn cree FET is unavailable, not even the 900V C3M part which i was thinking if it would work but alas it's unavailable anyway Digikey expects new shipments of the 1700v C2M to arrive in November though
  6. Hmm yea, epsilon only switches half of the lines. In that case I'll probably just not use the epsilon lol but uh... it's claimed that it can handle balanced so i'll test it out
  7. I'll make a few boards, I've heard the GSX Mk2 before, I'm praying the dynalo answers my prayers for a fast amp that is not overpowered. My current SS amp has a bit of top end rolloff, which is unfortunate It will have a sigma22 to power 2 boards so I have a balanced dynalo. How do I connect it for SE on the output? (I'm also using the epsilon 12 i have lying around) Just to be sure, at 200mA that's 400mA for the whole amp right? Trying to calculate how much heatsinking I need for the sigma22
  8. due to the rarity of stax sockets, has anyone tried to mill one out of teflon? I have a mate with a CNC mill and i'm thinking if it's possible to use contacts from something else?
