Let's see if Grahame's brilliant deductive powers can see the difference between this before and after. Before After

Yeah, I did that and it works fine. I am just sick of it and have to go to a board meeting so I stopped. I also want to get some locks and possible better looking lugs than the stock Audi ones so NTB will handle that for me.

Brent will pay!!! How is this for outstandingly overcomplicated for getting the wheels on: Step One - Drive car to train station to take the train two stops to the Hertz store, because they just moved and do not have home pick up yet. Pick up extended cab Chevy pickup I got with points. Step Two - Drive truck to my house to load up tires/wheels and deliver them to a NTB I found in the neighborhood. Step Three - Take truck to garage where car is and exchange so I can bring the car to the NTB for the work. Step Four - Take car home when done and get bike to ride back to train garage. Step Five - Throw bike in the back of the truck and head to NTB to get winter wheels and bring them to my house. Step Six - wake up Saturday morning to return truck and either train or Uber home to get my car so I can head out to AoA HQ for a luncheon and open house.

I have filed a claim with corporate, Firestone, and am supposed to hear back in 3-5 days from my specialist. HRE will repowder coat the set for $500.

Looks like the car is just low enough now that the low profile jack and adapter will not actually fit under the car. I am going to stab Brent when I see him for eating biscuits.

Motherfucker. Took one wheel to a Firestone in the neighborhood to rebalance the wheel and pick it up to find scrapes all the way around the lip. They are saying it was like that when I brought it. I am very close to killing the whole shitty shop.

Remind me to kick you in the nuts next time I see you Brent.

Of course, I get to the last wheel and find the silver balance tabs stuck to the cardboard protector and no longer where they belong on the wheel. I guess I am going to have to find a shop to figure out where they go.

As I am apparently the very last stop on the UPS driver's route. Phase 2 has been delayed. Just going to seal and wax them tonight. Also need to figure out if the Audi lug nuts work on these as they come with nothing new.

Good to know Grahame is so observant.

Phase One of today's Audi upgrades is complete. Before After Can anyone spot the difference...not the stupid Quattro stickers.

I hear you. I actually had to unvent my sunroof because those buzzy little BRZs were all round me.

Our Sunday one is typically pretty laid back and not super high end, but it is still fun. I left yesterday in a whole train of super noisy japanese cars, Acura NSX, Skyline R32, about a dozen Suburu BRZs, a couple of WRX STis. Drove me crazy as they were buzzing so loudly but not moving the whole way down the road as they wanted everyone to see them.

This sealant is mostly for brake dust. This morning's Cars & Coffee

I also got the Sonax Polymer Shield to try on the wheels for brake dust.

Like I said earlier, Detailers Domain has that and some other killer stuff and has 20% off for new customers.

By the way, the Opti-Seal seemed to work really well in today's thunderstorm. Windows are a mess but paint looks spotless after a heavy rain.

I got this stupid thing to try since it was from Amazon and would be here in time. I love how the box tells you to avoid crushing your rocker panels.

Yes those are the pinch welds which do not play well with a large floor jack plate.
  22. VPI replied to VPI's topic in Miscellaneous
So what were the results? I have spent entirely too much time today trying to figure out the best way to use a floor jack to jack up a silly modern car that only offers about 6 inches of pinch weld to jack from that evidently likes to collapse and fuck up the sill and floor of the car on regular occasion. I miss the days when you could just the fucking jack on the frame and jack it up.

Katie's was pretty great this morning. Evidently it was Lambo day. I'll start with the vintage BMW and other assorted vintage european collection for Brent and Steve. American Vintage

While I am not entirely sure I did it right, it seemed really easy. It comes with an applicator pad and the direction are put a very thin layer on. If you get streaks you are using too much and you should wipe with a microfiber cloth. You are supposed to just apply it and walk away. I read people saying it has to cure for 24 hours on a few products, but this one said nothing like that. Not sure. Some non-iphone pics from the garage after gym tonight.
