  1. I owned them, and didn't like them. They clamp a lot when you have a big head. The sound is weird, especially on the highs. There's a spike in the mid highs, and then they rapidly roll off, leaving nothing of upper highs.
  2. It's now: 1. GermanMAESTRO GMP 250, with DT770 Pro velour earpads, the holes at the back taped 2. AKG K270 Playback, with Beyer manufacture leather pads and recabled Driven by a Van Waarde single-ended OTL custom tube headphone amplifier.
  3. My favorite closed headphones at the moment are: GermanMAESTRO GMP 250 (w/ Beyer leather earpads) AKG K270 Playback (w/ Beyer leather pads) M-Audio Studiophile Q40 (modded, w/ DT770 Pro velour pads) Closed phones that I liked, but didn't keep because of comfort issues: BeyerDynamic DT 150 Kenwood KH-K1000 AKG K271S And if the BeyerDynamic DT 770 2005 consumer edition didn't had that sibilant and piercing treble, I would've kept them as well. These are not the bass monsters, but more like a closed DT880. Closed cans that I regret selling, are the Sony MDR-CD1700. Those that I didn't like are: Sennheiser HD 380 pro Denon AH-D2000 BeyerDynamic DT 770/80 Pro
  4. Rebranded MB Quart QP's. My GMP250 for instance is the rebranded MB Quart QP 250. Sort of a mix between AKG and Beyer. They have the AKG mids and highs (sweet, smooth), and the Beyer bass (meaty, sometimes too much). That is, too my ears and with my system. There's a review of the GMP400, GMP450 and another model (can't remember which one) on "the other" headphone forum.
  5. You will find out within two weeks
  6. 1. BeyerDynamic DT150 2. AKG K 270 Playback 3. GermanMAESTRO GMP 250
  7. Thanks. And yes, it's Tiemen on the 'other' site
  8. I have the K270 Playback now for a couple of weeks, and I really like them. Certainly better than the K271,and a lot of other closed headphones. Great AKG mids, and the treble, bass and soundstage aren't bad either. Comfort can be a issue though. The either clamp too much when you have a big head, or they are too loose when you have a small head. I had to remove the elastics in order to get rid of the tight fit on my big head. I bought mine on a Dutch tradingsite for 40 Euro, which is 50 USD. Plus new earpads. Well worth the costs.
