Pico will sound better than the DA100 Signature? Reason I ask is because I rather have all the extra inputs and outputs and don't really have a use for a portable. I have DVD player I want to use as a transport as well as the computer.

Why not get the Signature for 875 delivered, AudiogoN ForSale: Stello DA 100 Signature instead of a standard DA100 for 780 shipped, :: Headphone/Preamp & USB-DAC :: HiFi500 :: [email protected] :: I rather have two sets of outputs anyway, one for headphones and one for speakers.

Buffalo looks very interesting but it is sold out. I wonder if I could just live with optical and go for the 740C. Looks like the DA100 Signature is going for 850 shipped on audiogon, NIB. How about something like a Monica?

Perpetual Tech p-1a/p-3a/monolith is too big for my desk and as far as the Pico, I dont really need a portable and would rather have more inputs for expansion later on.

Well, I was considering the 740C but I dont need a transport and would like to have USB. Dac1 w/usb is over my price range. I want something smooth and musical, another reason im shying away from the Dac1. I like all kinds of music except country and opera. Classic rock and Jazz mostly.
