Another point of reference are the almost 10 people who own a Carbon and a BHSE. All of them prefer the Carbon with the 009 and that makes perfect sense from a technical point of view. One of them even recently got a brand new BHSE and asked me what he should do with it...the Carbon was much better.
Most of this is due to the superior high frequency driving potential. This was a large part of the design process but it naturally works just as well for the 007's. More HF power means they aren't as dark as they used to be. The BHSE will roll off a bit so this is a change to the better.
Yep. The SR-009s with the Carbon is my preference over the BHSE, the Carbon is right up there at just about DIYT2 level.
From my listening tests the Golden Reference Low Voltage supplies have also pushed performance considerably, it’s exclusion from a build is something that may weigh in.

Welcome bui501, I would start a new thread if you thinking of posting extensively, happy to help with any questions. Are you building an on board or off board?

Kerry that is great. What software are you using for the renders?

Why only one 3 pin XLR for balanced input?

Very nice!

So it is illegal to own more than one amp now? Like how many on here have more than one amp? And it is technically correct in some cases to find a strength in one amp in a certain area (bass, vocals etc) and soundstage and slam in another. It has been documented on here. I still see the KGSShv has certain aspects I prefer over the BHSE (warmth, bass). I like soundstage, vocals and midrange on the BHSE. Both are great amps IMO, the BHSE overall the better amp.
Oh my... you are indeed a wordsmith.

Still hand solderable right?

This is a good reason to get back into dynamics, awesome work Kerry.
Alpha will only do a 1000 pc order last time I checked.

Carbon in a DIY T2 looking chassis - really nice.

Happy Birthday Justin!

With these voltages I would consider not using those terminal blocks for earth grounding as they tend to relax and loosin over time, I don't hold much confidence in there ability for this purpose.

Awesome build.
I like how you have the panels now, not being extended... that’s just me.

Test in volts not milliamps. 1V is the setting for 20mA.

Mousers out of MJW21193 & MJW21194 for the moment.
Assuming MJW21195 & MJW21196 is ok substitute, I’ve cross reference data sheets and cannot see any problem.-

Doh! (slaps forehead) Thanks for the reminder.
Been there.

Looking for 2 pairs of split GR HV (bias) boards, if anyone has spares.
-
Kevin has posted somewhere about the 2 different servos on this board. One of them needs +20V offset on start-up.
-
Test and trim the board first without jumpers.
To activate the servos jumper one or the other, not both at the same time, you decide which servo to use.

No. Justin's BHSE will always retain value, it’s always been a bargain![;) ;)](//content.head-case.org/emoticons/default_wink.png)
