cetoole
Any of you nerds use large driver open baffle speakers, or have opinions? Specifically looking at stuff like Hawthorne silver iris 15" coax, though field coils always intrigued too. I have never heard any, so the curiosity is purely about it being something different I think.
crappyjones123
My dad has a pair of Betsy's. He quite likes them. Not nearly as big as the Hawthorne but he is also not playing in a huge room. They play far better than a $100 pair of drivers. http://www.wildburroaudio.com
acidbasement
I've been interested in building a pair lately. Pass' sonotube woofer idea might be an easy way to flesh out the basses if I knew how to design the crossover.
jp11801
The Field Coils that I heard with Al made by OMA were stunning although ungodly expensive. So fast and extremely present some of the best sound I have ever heard, goose bump good and I almost never feel that way.
Leonardo Drummond
I use the Jamo R907s in the living room's system, and love them. They have a very easy going, natural and apparently uncolored tone compared to many boxed speakers I've heard and the bass hits real hard when you feed them enough juice.
