Looks like my long-serving Quads have decided to stop working. I haven’t tried to disassemble the offending one. But there’s definitely been an intermittent issue where it wouldn’t play without power cycling, and that has appeared to turn fatal and now it won’t turn on.

I was only able to enjoy these because of the deal I got on them from Todd. So I didn’t know what people have for experience with some of these newer brands/models. I have a pair of Audioengine A2s at work, which needless to say, are several steps below. But with the market flooded with lots of reasonably priced options, does anyone have any recommendations for active monitors? I don’t know that I have a hard budget, but I’d like to keep considerations below $4-500.

Thanks!

Sorry about that Ian. I like my Edifier S2000Pros but they are not exactly cutting edge and I haven't shopped for almost anything audio in a while. Good luck!

Sorry to hear Ian....  I'm in Maine right now, but I have a pair of Paradigm Shift's at home, and also a pair of Emotiva Airmotiv 4's (not 4s's) if you're interested in trying either.  And if you like, yours to keep....

That’s incredibly generous. I’d definitely be interested in giving the Paradigms a listen. Just let me know what might work for you when you’re back.

Thanks again!
