Omega_ELS Posted August 21 Report Posted August 21 Reference Amplifier for Electrostatic --------->>>>>>>> what do you think? does it look good or bad? found this on the net today
spritzer Posted August 21 Report Posted August 21 The pics are too low res to make any values out but it looks like it is multiple opamp stages feeding into a low power push-pull stage. I wouldn't call that reference in anyway. The person doing this doesn't seem to understand RMS values and that bias supply is super sketchy... None of those resistors are rated for that voltage. Clearly voltage divider into RC filters but one 2010 resistor to ground and the ballast is a 1/4W unit? Yeah... no. 1
kevin gilmore Posted August 21 Report Posted August 21 the power supply is clearly labeled as +350 and -350. so an absolute maximum of 1400 volts peak to peak stator to stator. which is 500vrms. not 630 vrms. the same as every stax amp with these power supplies. srmt1 all versions, srm717 srm727 etc. looks almost identical to the koss circuit with bipolar outputs replacing the mosfets. push pull. no idea of maximum output current. lots of opamps with huge amounts of feedback. if its cheap enough, might be worth it. probably not. 1
