March 24, 200917 yr comment_217720 So I'm seeing this, and I'm thinking to myself -- you know, I've been meaning to (ahem) laserdrop my laserdisks. Talk me down? Talk me up (I.E. should I go all the way to 1080p)? Do whut now? This coming from someone who has immediately fallen in love with blu-ray -- I may not know shit about this stuff, but I know what I like. Report
March 24, 200917 yr comment_217853 It's analog, sure. But it's also ntsc, so it only has 240 lines of resolution. Report
March 25, 200917 yr comment_217969 Laserdisc had more than 400 lines. It was much higher quality than VHS and VHS was in the 200s. Report
March 25, 200917 yr comment_217990 It was higher quality, but it was still PAL or NTSC. For some reason, all I think of when you say that is 60fps or 29.97 deinterlaced for NTSC or 25fps for PAL internally. What does frame rate have to do with the resolution? Report
