High-Res PVR?

Featured Replies

So I'm seeing this, and I'm thinking to myself -- you know, I've been meaning to (ahem) laserdrop my laserdisks.

Talk me down? Talk me up (I.E. should I go all the way to 1080p)? Do whut now?

This coming from someone who has immediately fallen in love with blu-ray -- I may not know shit about this stuff, but I know what I like.

Laserdisc had more than 400 lines. It was much higher quality than VHS and VHS was in the 200s.

It was higher quality, but it was still PAL or NTSC.

For some reason, all I think of when you say that is 60fps or 29.97 deinterlaced for NTSC or 25fps for PAL internally. What does frame rate have to do with the resolution?
