Completely unexpected and a total bummer, he was a great guy and built some kick-ass gear. I had a brief PM exchange with him on diyaudio and I always looked forward to reading his posts there.

We defionitely need more people around like this who like to mod and tweak and think about what would make something better audio-wise. RIP.
