  1. Well, I just medicated Bobby for the first time yesterday, and it was as easy as getting the pill past his tongue, getting bitten in the process (but not enough to break skin), and then watching him struggle with swallowing it (!).

Yep the first time it's so easy. The surprise element will be on his side from now on...

Mine had this for me for the second round:

  2. Yeah, this will be the first male cat for which I am the responsible adult for him losing his reproductive abilities as well. I feel so guilty, and yet, I will still do it, because I believe in spaying and neutering.

The ''operations'' were done last friday. I tried to alleviate my guilt by providing (A) the best feline hospital setting and (B) accepting their offering of a special post-op treatment that made the life of the cat as easy it can be. After a 3 days period I had to face the task of giving the medication myself for another 4 days. Seeing how the cat behave I think I'll keep the medication reference for myself....:P (The part where I push the pill in back of the cat's throat is an interesting experience...:palm:)

And that's a good point about pet health insurance -- any particular reason you like that one? I'm thinking I should probably get pet health insurance as well.

After investing almost $1000. for an healthy street cat (OK 50% of this amount is a one in a lifetime medical event) I made the decision to protect our new guy from bad surprises and us as well.

Why Petsecure? I looked around before asking the vet for an age evaluation (it's the insurance starting point for every inquiries) and they were looking pretty serious on their website. Few days later when I got the age evaluation (1.5 year old) they were also the first service my vet was pointing to before I mentioned my interest openly in Petsecure.

BTW the level 4 was and still is a financial joke. Level 1 and maybe 2 are the way to go if you want an adequate protection and want to keep alive your interest in headphones...:P

Mine just tested positive for worms. :\

Bad news but in such a young fellow the medical outcome can only be good.

Hold on to someting: Merlin's dentist recommended that we brush his teeth on a daily basis.:chair:

  3. (....) and I can't simply make more breads appear by snapping my fingers. Even though there are tricks to make them develop faster (warmer water, more yeast, adding enzymes and maltose etc.) they still need about 60 minutes in the proofer and another 30 in the oven.

You have exactly 25 years in front of you to find a solution before the next realy big celebration.....;)

  4. Here's the deal:

    (...)

Seems you have to be a licensed insurance agent, and I got all the info on where to do the online coursework for that and whatnot. I was told if I got it done in two weeks (seems like 3 or so is the norm, but 2 shouldn't be a problem for me if I decide to do it, I have the time/abilities to knock it out quick), that I would be fully reimbursed for every dime spent.

    **BRENT**

I have yet to see a line of work that is worthy of investing someone life and that needs less time in formation than what it needs to become a below average male stripper....:P

  5. Also, "Cha-cha" in English is pronounced with a hard "ch" sound, so it sounds a lot different than "Chat-chat" (soft ch) does.

I'm quite impressed. I was presuming that this kind of nuance would have been noted only by GPH. You got a point Sir but try to keep this subtile distinction alive while you're eating a peanut butter sandwich and someone ask you the name of your cat....:P

What? You're not going to even consider "Adolf"? ;)

The only german names allowed in the list are dead German architects...

  6. But "Cha-cha" is easier to say...

Maybe but I tested it with our little friend and look what reaction I got from the use of ''Cha-cha'' name*.... :P

    * In fact all other 3 names got a similar reaction...:P

  7. Cha-cha would make a great cat's name.

No doubt about it unless you live in a French location/culture. In that case ''Cha-cha'' would be exactly the same as if you called a pet ''Cat-cat'' in an English location....;)

    P.S.

Currently we have 3 names left on the final list:

    Gropius (thinking of Walter)

    Picasso

  8. Two nights ago I had a hard choice to make between Styx and Patrick Watson....

Went for Watson. A fun show and a lot more babes than the previous Van der Graaf crowd. On vocal, Watson is pretty amazing and the band was having a good time. Not at there best outdoor since the noise coming from the usual morons (the ones with the beer meter already in the full tank 2 hours before the first notes of the opening act) is annoying. Me? a f..... elitist that would prefer all shows to be in an indoor setting? You bet I am. ;D

At least I have found another advantage for the concert earplugs. They cut much of the closer sound coming from the immediate crowd.

The concert had a nice surprise feature: one song was performed by the whole band during a little journey in the audience. Amazing trick because the sound quality of the main audio system was not affected at all.

    9 sur 10.

  9. My dear Guillaume,

In life we all have to make painfull choices: you choose to go for sex, beer, and rock & roll in Europe. And poor me I had to stay here at home waiting for Hammill and his band to perform in our Summer Festival. Since I started this thread long ago I'm about to close it with a post in the ''What's the last concert you attended?'' spirit. As you know, last friday Qu

  10. Yesssssssssssssssssssssssssss....do I like the East Coast.....

'' It now looks as though we'll be undertaking a serious (3 week or so) N. American stint in June/July after Nearfest. Things still await absolute and final confirmation (and relevant work visas, naturally), but it looks as though we'll be paying visits to the following places at least: NYC, Washington, Cleveland, Chicago, Buffalo, Annapolis, Toronto, Ottawa, Quebec City and Montreal. I expect (I hope, for the sake of the budget!) that more will appear in due course. Sorry that I can't give fuller information at this point, but I'd better wait until everything is signed, sealed, delivered.... And sorry, but it does look as though this will be an East Coast tour only.'' (Peter Hammill)

  11. The Montreal club was so much in trouble even before the start of the first round (remember they are under this man guidance....)

    untitled-1.jpg

So I choose to watch another hockey related show. It's Hanna Koivu and Marie-Christine Lavoie (Mathieu Dandenault 's girlfriend) doing a renovation show featuring the new home project of another Montreal player: Maxim Lapierre.

As you can see below you can understand why I realy like home renovation shows:
