I kinda want one too

You guys enjoy the Civil war century. I looked and it's sold out so I won't be joining you. I'm now looking at this Indian Head 100 on Sunday 9/7 instead: http://ohbike.org/century/
I want to get a century in this year though I'm not really in any condition to do it at any good pace. This one is close enough to home that I can just drive, ride and then drive home. Should be interesting considering my longest ride this year was order 60 miles (or was it km?).
If it's on Sunday I could probably ride it with you as long as you're not going too fast for my tired legs

That's an interesting amp by sony

So it's an "HV" (mountain) pump?
Not that it would matter for the Kenda happy mediums I'm currently running but ...
Nah, 16g of CO2 will get you about 90psi of pressure, if you want higher you'd need a bigger CO2 cartridge. The pump itself is spec'd up to 120psi.
Chris: unfortunately it's the same day as the Civil War Century

Arm twister?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/351125757507
(Lezyne Alloy Drive CFH)
It's only rated for 90 PSI and I can't find that one on the Lezyne site so must be an older model?
I think it's referring to the pressure you can pump to with a single 16g cartridge.
-
I usually carry two CO2 cartridges in my saddle bag, but with the longer rides now I'm thinking of bringing a minipump along and consolidating to a minipump that has CO2 capability. It's not just a little faster, the minipumps can sometimes take a very long time to bring the tire up to pressure
-
Damn I can't imagine doing a TT, I'm too much of a mooch
On a hilly course you can't mooch very much
That Lezyne pump looks interesting, I have the non-CO2 version so it'd be nice to get one with CO2.
-
Ouch, hoofing it for 16 miles sounds like a crappy way to end a ride I'll need to check my inflators when I get home and I was looking at PDW's Ninja Pump that has an CO2 inflator built in, so I might pick that up to have a backup in case I run out of CO2 or more likely...screw up the inflation.
This weekend I'm thinking of signing up for "That Dam TT", a 31mi TT course (consisting of two laps) with 3k ft of elevation.
I've never done a TT, so I think I'm just going to warm up beforehand, then pace myself in low to mid zone 4 to start, then adjust as I go.

Rooty fun from the Patapsco Epic

I may have an answer for this one. USPS re-uses first class international and possibly Priority International tracking #s. You see the tracking info from the last recipient until as late as the next day after the package is scanned. I have to explain this every time i ship an international package through USPS. Luckily, it hasn't cost me any knee-jerk chargebacks yet.
Yup, I've seen it happen a couple times myself. I've also had weird update delays where I didn't see any of the the package status updates until well after delivery.

Well its a MTB and my current one is nearly 8 years old, so it'll be a good upgrade for me.

Oops.

Did the Patapsco Epic 25mi ride today and it was definitely EPIC. At the safety briefing they warned that it was more difficult than both the NoVA Epic and the MoCo Epic, and I don't doubt that at all.Lots of climbing with roots and rocks on both descents and climbs. Needless to say there were plenty of sections where I was hiking a bike.
I also just got a call from my friend and apparently I won a Diamondback bike from the raffle. I guess it was worth toughing the ride out

The product is called the Electronic Circuit Transducer or ECT. These tiny devices...are placed on D to A chips, fuses, near vacuum tubes, capacitors, transformers, op amps, and analog and digital cables. The ECTs can also be placed on the exterior of the chassis to improve the electromagnetic environment of the component. Synergistic Research states that high frequency noise is reduced with a resultant drop in the perceived noise floor. Compression of the sound is decreased with application of these devices on your electronic components. Improvements in clarity and definition, along with soundstage size and air, are claimed to improve with use of the ECTs. The ECTs convert ultra-high frequencies that are found with RFI-EMI circuit board component emissions to more musically consonant frequencies.
There's so much marketing talk, where's the description of how it does all this magic? Maybe we'll find it in the related High Frequency Transducer review:
I know that some of you will be wondering where is the technical explanation of how the HFT and FEQ achieve these startling sonic results. I don’t have that information nor was it provided to me. I do know that the HFT and FEQ do what Synergistic Research claims that they will do in my system. So there is no baseless marketing hype here. As far as I'm concerned, these products live up to Synergistic Research’s claims and advertising.
Oh, the company doesn't even bother explaining how it does all this magic. The reviewer is fine with that and agrees that it works.

A Plantronics headset perhaps? They're not really audiophile quality, but they have the professional look down pat.

I use the 595 game version daily at home and it works very well. When the mic is rotated to vertical it automatically mutes it.

Looks like a decent price for a clone, though the main question will be what quality wood they use. Sanding and refinishing can be done fairly easily if need be, at that price.

Somehow, I think they missed yet another deadline....
You're not supposed to notice that, you're supposed to be super excited about their latest and greatest project!
-
I gotta agree with you there, Chris. It's not exciting to lose key players to crashes

Took an intro course on a Stratasys Fortus 3d printer today. It makes 3d printing a very simple and reliable affair, but holy shit do their proprietary parts cost you for the convenience! The cartridges are roughly 10x the cost of standard spools and the printing tray (which Stratasys apparently recommends you only use once) are $20 a pop. The printer itself is also $45k, so I guess I won't be buying one for myself

Yeah....Stage 5 is definitely one to watch.

Chainlove is burning through stocks of Sportlegs (120ct) $16 plus shipping
Competitive Cyclist is having a TdF sale, with the Sportlegs marked down to $16.20. They've also got Osmo nutirition and Skratch Labs mix on sale too: http://www.competitivecyclist.com/competitivecyclist/The-Tour-Sale/cat100205662/promo.html?INT_ID=IB15010
They're supposed to add more items to the sale as TdF goes on.

Participated in an actual time trial race today, just to see how I'd fare. As it turns out, time trials really hurt...

Second lap was a struggle to simply keep moving and trying to not stop and puke. I really suck at pacing myself on hills
