Evidently UPS decided that they hadn't screwed up the situation with the transport enough, rather than return the transport to me after "inspecting" the package they shipped it back to the guy in Canada. So let's hope he's the honest type and just refunds my $ since right now I have neither the player nor the $.
Well now that was another brilliant UPS move.

Nice! I like the linear trackers too for their ease of use. I recently purchased a Mitsubishi LT-30 (second one I've owned), and it works great. There is a bit of setup and adjustment, but nothing like a standard table. The Mitsu excepts standard mount cartridges as well.
I went to Austin today to hang out with luvdunhill, and he took me to a couple of great record shops. I stocked up on cheap vinyl!

I'm 6'1", and about 230 lbs. I spend my days carrying beams and trusses up ladders, so I'm a somewhat imposing figure. But most people would describe me as a well humored, gentle guy. I do have my buttons though, and this jerk just pushed most of them.
Do yourself a favor little boy, and stay home!

I got into a fight once on a road trip with a kid I made fun of non stop on a blogring. It was funny. =]
We had a cook on one of the fishing boats I worked on in the Bering Sea who was a skinny little punk. We had a gay guy on the boat that was a great worker, and never bothered anyone.
The skinny punk (about 25) was constantly throwing slurs at the gay guy (about 45), calling him fag, and cocksucker and everything else he could think of.
This went on for months, and the gay guy (Toby) would just ignore it.
Well at the end of our 5 month contract we were let off in Ketchikan, Alaska with plane tickets back to Anchorage the following day. We could sleep on the boat that night, but most of us opted to rent a room and dogpile on the floor for the night, so we could go into town and have some fun (we'd been trapped on a boat for 5 months).
The skinny cook decided to sleep in our room, as did Toby. At about 3:00 am we all crawled back to the room from the string of bars we visited, and tried to get some sleep.
The skinny cook just couldn't shut his mouth though, and kept taunting Toby with more slurs.
All of a sudden it sounded like our room was a war zone! By the time someone could turn on a light Toby had grabbed the skinny cook and was beatin' the hell out of the skinny bastard. A few tried to pull him off the cook, but most of us intervened, and told them to let it run it's coarse.
Toby gave that cook two of the biggest Black eyes I've ever seen, and without missin' a beat said "tell your friends you just got your ass kicked by a fag, you stupid bastard" or something to that affect.
The cook spent the rest of the night sleeping in the bathtub, and didn't say a word the whole trip home.
When someone uses the word Justice, that's the first thought that comes into my mind.

I bought a Hershey's bar with Almonds from Nate. It was the big one. It arrived a little melty, so I contacted Nate. Nate being the man jumped right on the situation and rectified it. He sent me another Hershey bar, but this time he cryo treated it before shipping. It arrived in perfect shape, and it tasted slightly more refined than the stock Hershey. I believe that Nate will be cryo treating Hershey bars for an upcoming meet, so please look for impressions.

Man I'm itchy on these. My ESS AMT 1D speakers I had in the 80's & 90's were fantastic. The Heil transformer is brilliant, but I do require some bass. Just not sure if they'll have much. I'm going to go with the general consensus that these are overpriced though.

We are still many weeks away from the final product, but I'm pretty excited to be purchasing my first nice headphone stand. Its going to be for my black and silver OII. Steve said he'll use wenge and asian satinwood, which I think will look downright snazzy with the OII. It'll be a hanging type design, small enough to still be used with the Stax SPC-1 protective cover.
Did we talk about a stand Jack?
The Asian Satinwood has a Silver tone, and the Wenge is semi-sweet chocolate in darkness, so it really should be a nice combination for your OIIs. The rhinestones, ropelights and dingo balls will just be icing on the cake.

Hey guys I set my turntable up with a new cartridge tonight, dialed in all the settings, connected my phono stage and verified that everything works. However all I have to test it is a slightly warped and slightly dirty 45 rpm from 1972.
Where are some good online sources for vinyl? I need at least a few reference albums to get rolling.
