I own two fucking balanced amps, and nothing single ended at all. So, since I am such a fucktard, when I get my shiny new HD800, with it's fabulous SE cable, what would you suppose me to do? And, IF I were to resell it to some fucktard that only has a SE amp, I'd imagine he'd appreciate it with the SE cable, SOOOO,. either I reterminate an existing aftermarket cable, or get a new hd800 replacement cable (no idea if I can or not) to reterminate balanced. Tool, indeed.

I have heard enough impressions that I now know it is back on me to determine if these are it, with whatever amp and cabling required to make them happen. While that may be close at hand, nothing will help until they are in hand, and compared head to head. Were that we could all declare a memorium for now, as all listening is over, and any further comments from those who have heard (make that 4, including Bostonears) is likely to be derivative / selective memory, parsed into language that will mean less with each retelling. Seriously, who really care what cans look like? Do you you really sit in front of a mirror looking at yourself when listening to phones? Seems to me the phones help us forget what we look like in the mirror, and the least we can forgive of them is their look. Myself, I dig the look... but have always been a substance over form guy anyway, proven by my fugly arse builds. That said, they have great personalities, and serve up tasty morsels.

Oh, and let's not forget it isn't for a long out of production phone with dwindling or unobtanium replacement parts.
