  1. What I don't understand is if the "The S/PDIF Receiver Module" is required for the Buffalo do work or not...
  2. Please two boards for me

    Equation

The usual friend that knows everyhing (OK, he really has more expensive headphones than me for sure) told me Equation cans use Ultrasone transducers. Opinions?
  4. Hummm probably because it is true A RS1 scales up with an amp, but less than a HD650. Let's say I have no headphone amp, a RS1 and a HD650 and I go trying them around at any pre, speaker amp, computer audio card, DAP, whatever; at the end of the day I would buy the RS1 for sure. So, you can live with a RS1 and no amp. If you have not_the_end_of_the_world amp you get 95% out of a RS1. Most of people can live with that. With a HD650, you get 70% and that's the veil, the highs roll off (humm maybe that is for real ) and so on.
  5. I am sure I am going to write something really silly, but it happens to me: I always noted I pump the volume really upper when I am listening a balanced HD650 than I do listening not balanced. It is like the HD650 opens soo much, you want more and more. Difficult to believe, but that's it...
  6. Could you please add something about that?It is the first time I read something from you about the active ground (I read you didn't like it) and I am very interested.
  7. I would say the same. They (the two K340 I listened to) share many things, like the same tonality and the same kind of presentation, ala speakers. Of course there are differences, but if someone asked me what headphone the K340 is like, I would say HD650.

    Favicon?

OK, that is really lame and stupid, but in the mess of favorites in ff I really should like to have a favicon for head.case
  9. Here a default M3/Step was not able to drive the K340 properly. I mean, yeah it seemed they were OK, but it was always it had something like a shortness of breath.
  10. That's why I like to visit Head-Case on a daily basis
  11. I made a very conservative estimate too, but with one PSU (are two really needed?). The case is going to be very expansive. The problem is that when I build the active ground configuration I am sure I will think "come on, it is just one more board" BTW What do you think about a Cavalli Kumisa III in balanced config? A balanced no feedback amplifier is something I would like to taste...
  12. I want to build it No atm. But I will for sure next year. I have a DIY "balancer". Today I tested it with a couple of Millet Hybrid in a balanced configuration and a HD580 and I wowed The balancer http://img408.imageshack.us/img408/7282/bilanciatorenv0.jpg Ahh yeah. I know. The b22 is my first choice atm.
  13. With all those new balanced amplifiers around I can't really resist and I want at least to have a taste of that heaven with a balanced 650, so, what is the most beautiful sounding but also simple DIY balanced amplifier in your opinion?
  14. My first post here, just to say congrats for your beautiful Klingon amp
