Why? I'm not saying every case, but there's more than a banned few folks that more or less begged for banning. What was that guy's name who showed up here for a minute right after getting banned there? gaguin or gaj...something. The anti-gun guy. Why would anyone want him back?
I agree with you about trouble makers, but there are a lot of politically banned people as well.

I would think that after all this, perhaps HF might be interested in a fresh start and offer amnesty to the banned...... if they had interest in returning.....

Can you hear the piano on Bob Dylan's Mondern Times, "Spirit on the Water" and if you can, where is it?
my mid range set up: Computer>optical Constantine>Woo3, GS1
Listening with my 880s tonight: (stock foobar 9.5, 32 bit, kernel streaming, album@320kpps mp3~EAC
With the Woo3 the piano is subdued, on the right and mixed into the music
With the GS1, I can hear the piano as a separate instrument, but barely.....
lots of air and space to the cut, but I'm having difficulty picking out the piano with the tube amp and can only do it slightly better with the SS.
What are you guys hearing?

Interesting question....
I would have thought it required more sugar than olives have, but then I found http://winemaking.jackkeller.net/request115.asp....
however, it does not really use olives.... it uses Autumn olives, which are an Asian berry like fruit....

I was following a thread on HF when I noticed a reference to head-case. I pressed refresh to follow the posts and when the page refreshed, the reference was gone....
Been here ever since.

if the proper sacrifice to Nyarlathotep is made, new examples can often be purchased.

...well i just wanted to say that ive heard the yamamoto and i thought it was pretty good in reproducing music! there are flaws make no mistake. high end or mid end. the yamamoto holds its end....
Hi YJ
I have not heard the Yamamoto, would you be able to describe what you feel the flaws are?
Thanks

Nixons do look and feel nice when I played around with them (I don't own one). Like Dusty, I'm thinking of getting a Nixon next time around.
I'm also a big fan of Hamilton, especially the Khaki series - I own a Field Mechanical Officer and Field Mechanical.
I have one in my collection as well.... classic piece.... ETA 2824 movement.

The dimensions of Mini3 board is 1.9875" x 3.1375" (50.48mm x 79.69mm) and is 0.062" (1.58mm) thick (taken from AMB's site).
And below is Nate's post about the balanced Mini3 with pics.

Thanks a lot SP, that's just what I was looking for.....

still too expensive for my blood...
not sure if i really want to get another home amp, but if i did, i'd need something that's cheap to power my hd580s. not sure what that is yet. was thinking about a mini3, but not sure about that. nate's mini32 would be sweet if i had a balanced source.
Speaking of the mini^3 I have a question for Mr. n_maher:
I didn't get a look inside the mini you brought to the meet, but how small is the mini^3 board, and what kind of power supply did you use?
Would it be possible to post a few pics of the inside of the balanced Mini?

complete with keef-encrusted RCA contact plates to enhance midrange euphony.
Can't remember the last time I heard that word......

Yep. Al (MrSlacker) pointed me to this place...at first I laughed because I figured it'll just be an extension of head-fi....but it seems alright here (so far). I guess I wont have any need to visit head-fi whenever it goes back online.
Hi Gloco
Welcome aboard...

Yeah, god Jude forbid that they use head-case as the temporary solution for Head-Fi's down-ness -- when Head-Fi comes back up, no need to worry about the interim posts.
Would head-case be able to handle the volume?

the woo stuff was awesome, especially the 5. Probably the best I heard my 225s ever. I cant really comment on it with the CD3000s since they sound so weird to me. I tried the lower end stuff (woo 6? woo 3?) but I wasnt THAT impressed. It was a good amp but I've heard better, especially at that price point.
Agreed, that 5 was really nice.....
-
From what I see of the pics there was a CD3k at the Woo table using the 4 pin jack for the K1k
Is this the CD3k?
-
There was a CD3000 paired with the Woo 5 for part of the day, correct?
I only saw one source at Jack's table...... I don't remember what it was but it's in a pic in the other thread Reks made for me.....
Nate also posted some pics of Jack's table, so maybe he got a shot of it....
Let me know if you find what your looking for....

Anyone have a picture of the Dared MP-5 > TR2 > H2 setup?
I have a pic but it's not that great.....

Man! I wish I would have flown out for the meet, looks like I missed some good auditioning opportunities...I've been jonesin' to try out a Woo. It would have been nice to meet some fellow audio freaks.
Hi Nick
Here are some of my Woo Pics....
the first one is before everybody got there,
Jack told me that all the amps he brought were V-cap upgrades, except this one with blackgates, which was his favorite because of its very large sound stage
and here's Jack ...................

UpState what program did you make the name badges with?

Hi Guys
It was a great meet. I always enjoy everyone's impressions.
First off, it was too bad trose49 couldn't make it. I was looking forward to meeting him.
n_maher, on the other, hand did make it
and he brought some great sounding stuff
Nate was nice enough to open the Herstens DAC so we could have a peak inside
it was hard to compare the balanced mini M^3 to the one I brought because Nate was feeding it from an Arcam into his "Hertsens" DAC and I was going optical out of a Shuttle computer to a Constantine DAC..... but I'll leave it to those who are not as affected by placebo effect as I am to report on the sound....
I thought the pico was very nice. Its size was much smaller and its sound was much bigger than I anticipated...
it was so small, I took a picture next to my watch to show the size
trose49's name badge made the rounds.... here it is gracing a Woo 3+... and speaking of the Woos, Jack brought the ones with the V-cap upgrades and they sound tremendous

I have a few name badges left, anyone else from head-case going to the meet?

I'll take one, but I can't email you at work. So if it comes down to it, I'll bring my own.
can you send a PM with screen name and real name?
-
