I dunno about the status of Stax, but Nikon is most likely proper fucked. Even champion fruit loop Ken Rockwell noticed (scroll down for relevant crackpottedness.) Nikon is perpetually back-ordered on most of their premium products in the best of circumstances. I can only imagine how bad the situation will be now. Disclaimer: Yes, the availability of high faltuin' camera equipment over here is completely trivial compared to the devastation in Japan.

I just coughed up $43 for this CD single. Out of my mind? Probably. I now have a bunch of the earliest tracks by The Mackenzie (an artist I've ) in clean digital form. The 24/96 vinyl rips I have sound nice enough but I'm never overly trusting of other people's attempts and A/D conversion. I previously paid $SHIT_TON for this comp, but I was disappointed by the fact that many of the tracks a truncated 7" mixes. "Freak Out" suffers especially badly. The above CD single has none of these problems.

Eeenteresting. I saw the Spanish signs, but had no idea what I was looking at. The robot is Mazinger (Tranzor) Z. Edit: This song and several others are available in FLAC, for free, on the artist's website. Unfortunately, said site is down at the moment. Hopefully it will be up soon.
