I thought in LA you could just shoot wherever the hell you want to.

Happy Birthday.

The way I can tell with mine is by looking at the end of the Parker 51 Made in the USA etching on the body and there is a number there T46 meaning it was made in Toronto in 1946. I guess Toronto was part of the US back then.

As most everyone knows I bought Dan's Balanced M3 and it showed up today and is warming up as we speak. I also got a set of Nate's cables that I will be using as soon as I get a set of Senns.
Thanks Dan.

Have a great one.

Good question. I haven't looked at it in a while. Is there a way to identify the vintage. It was my dads and I'm guessing he had it back in the '40s.
Thanks. I will do a little research and check into the suggestions.
RichardsPens.com • Fountain Pens by Richard Binder
You can find Binder here for a restoration and he also has written up a nice article on the 51 in his Reference Info section that will help you nail down a time frame. The info will most likely be around the imprint for the 51 Made in USA on the body.

The 51 is well worth restoring as it is a fantastic pen. What vintage is yours?

The vintage specialist at Art Brown International in NYC. Re-frosted the cap added a NOS jewel and rehabbed the vacuumatic internals. It writes and looks like a new pen if not better.
There are several specialists in the 51 over at FPN and I believe there is a prominent one down in Florida if I am not mistaken.

A large part of Dan's home system and a pair of APS 4 Pin balanced K340s to play with. Now I just need to find a Senn headphone to connect to the cables I bought and a four pin XLR extension cable so I don't have to stand next to the rack to listen.

I bought a pair of HP-2s from David and they arrived as described in excellent packaging.
Thanks,

I know the EC amp. I was going to buy the Luxman after remember enjoying it when I listened to it at the last NY meet but then I saw that guy on Head-fi that might be backing out of his Balancing Act pre-order and I thought I might be forced to try to get on the list for one of those.
It has been so long since I listened to headphones, with the exception of the Omega IIs once in a while, and I am behind the times for headphone amps.

I was just contemplating having one of those sent my way. I got the HP-2s in today and I actually have nothing to plug them in to. I thought I had a Melos in the closet but I must have gotten rid of it at some point. Just looking for a temporary solution while I figure out what single-ended/balanced amp I want to put in the system.
I guess you don't have the Luxman yet to compare it to?

Thanks everyone.
Al, the eternal salesman. If the Feds didn't expect me to fund all their programs starting this April I might have some more cash to throw around and would definitely pick it up. I do need an amp for 909s HP-2s that are on their way to Jersey now. Couldn't pass that deal up twice.
Now back to spinning that vinyl.

Great new MFSL.

Great live album I picked up today.

Shakey Jake -- Mouth Harp Blues (RM Records Needledrop)
Reading that album cover I thought for sure that it read "Mouth BARF Blues". I thought it was a drinking song album.

I bought some Grado flats and about a gallon of fountain pen ink from Jack. Expertly packed and now I have a years supply of sandwich bags that all of the ink bottles were packed in. Win-Win.
