  1. Ironically I have purchased a couple Japanese saws in the last couple weeks. I’m not against using hand tools at all, for some things they work better and faster than any power tool. But for more complicated things, my hands can’t repeat things within .001”.
  2. I’m with you, Steve. I like doing the job, but I also like getting the job done. I also never see myself using a bow saw while listening to chamber music and sawing in time with the rhythm. Props to those that do though.
  3. Put up some overhead board storage.
  4. Build a frame with cross braces in the back and contact cement it to the frame. not sure I would want to be in an enclosed area with someone’s old mattresses though 🤮
  5. Looks great!
  6. Using the router and cleaning the edges with the chisel would be the faster method. White side even makes a corner chisel. Looks good to me though. I’m also no expert, but I think you might be using the wrong chisel.
  7. Exactly what I did basically. Set the start depth at .0015. All done with a 90.
  8. Thanks. So much to learn, so little time. No intentions of become a sign maker but it’s a little fun.
  9. Re-did the lettering on the bottom.
  10. Gag sign for a friend whose wife caught herself on fire while cooking. Learn something every time. Should have used a bolder font.
  11. Try harder, we expect better next time.
  12. Agree, kosher is the way to go. Doesn’t he have a domino?
  13. The Felder 510 looks to be about the right size as well and just about the same price, I’ll have to do some review digging.
  14. The Hammer resaw height is a little small, but this one seems to match up nicely. Time to check out YouTube shills. https://shopscm.us/collections/featured-sales/products/formula-s-440p
  15. No help here, I also need to purchase a “smaller” bandsaw in the 16-18” region. Smashed up a pinewood ply box.
  16. Definitely a case where you don’t want to have any body part around the V. No matter your proclivities.
  17. V carving is definitely the way to go, really no other way to get sharp corners. I think Fusion can generate V carve toolpaths.
  18. First commissioned work. Vet hospital owner I happen to know needed a emergency gift for a client. Little boring but usable. Playing around with inlays. For a whiskey group.
  19. Have to build a back box if you want to catch more with the mitre saw. They like throwing shit everywhere. Check out https://www.oneida-air.com for some smaller vortex systems.
  20. If you have the space and don’t mind spending more, a vortex system would be the way to go. The Dust Right will probably work fine though, just get the canister option. Can always sell it to Brent when you step up to a CNC.
  21. That’s what I did. They are not that expensive and can be used as a kayak anchor when the Red smasher becomes available.
  22. Built a stick crusher holder with my ping pong table.
  23. I’m holding out for the Red smasher.
  24. Correct.
  25. I have the Bosch, ordered the Milwaukee and a week later told it was actually back ordered. I had the Bosch in my last router table and have no complaints.
