Getting kind of scared about ending up waiting another 10 days for more amateur hour. I was also considering getting some PCBs assembled with them, but maybe not so much anymore. Any suggestions for other board manufacturers?

Anyone else recently experience a large drop off in quality for Seeedstudio PCBs? In my last order I have a few boards that have half broken off pads, the edge cuts are horrible and almost touching the traces, some of the drill holes don't line up, some of the vias aren't tented, etc.

Maybe you need to edit your post again, after you look through any KGSSHV BOM as well as read Kevin's above post.

It's usually much closer to 1V as KG said as he uses 1.7V LEDs and Vbe is closer to 0.7V. If using higher voltage LEDs I would compensate with resistance accordingly.

So you know exactly how much money wiktor and this guy has now? Something tells me they don't share an accountant.
It is highly doubtful a real collector would pay some of the highest prices anyone has ever seen for these items, back to back, and then brag to everyone about how much he spent on them. We'll see what happens in the near future.

You just need moar POWAH!! Just checked mouser and Diodes Inc seems to still be making them... 57000 MMBTA06 in stock and another 40000 on the way, much fewer MMBTA56 though.

Maybe someone else can chime in. I try to stay as far away from through hole components as possible these days, partly from my horrible experiences with desoldering THT (of course never with anything as nice as the Hakko). Quick googling of the Hakko seems to be mixed, with some people constantly blowing out the motors but it's probably mostly just the fiddly nature of the beast. Maybe they fixed the problems since those reviews ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Sometimes brute force can also work (turns 360 degrees and moonwalks into the distance). I just bought a Quick 861DW for that 1000W soldering power, will let you know how it works on these thick copper Dynalo boards when I get it in a month.

Definitely, 1oz copper will make things much easier to solder.

That's a bit of a loaded blanket statement... it depends on speeds and feeds for the material you are cutting and the end mills you are using, and how fast your drill press goes. But definitely not something I would try in general.

You mean cutting horizontally, like milling? I would also guess no, as what typically holds end mills in a mill are tool holders with collets which have very specific runout tolerances. I'm not sure about putting end mills in a drill press, either (drill bits only cut axially, of course).

This is what I hate most about what has become of the hobby. Farming out beta testing to initial adopters has gotten way out of hand, and apparently because the adopters are totally willing. It's one thing to have a focus group, but it's another to have paying customers agree or even not agree to becoming de facto beta testers for products that are barely out of proof-of-concept.

It's a Shars 4" milling vise, which I'm pretty sure is a knockoff of a Kurt. I don't have the $500 or whatever it is for a real Kurt, I think the Shars was about $100.

Turns out what are finishing passes in aluminum are not the same in Delrin. Everything surprisingly fits exactly though, except I made the holes on the other side about .1mm too small. I checked with some stax plugs and it fits those nicely too.

Still forgot to listen to it when I went back even though you mentioned it.
I did listen to the Shure portable stat system though, and thought it was pretty meh. The nearly nonexistent track collection on the iPad they had didn't help, of course.
