You need to follow this thread and have it send email notifications so you can check on your new phone! I clicked the link not long after Brent posted it and it was still in stock.

You just have to make sure everything can handle 1.5A. The regulators I am using can only do 1A each so I have to use two.

I meant you as in a collective generalized you. But your implication based in saying that 8gb and 16gb are effectively the same, etc, isn't correct because software uses hardware as a crutch. That's why no one complains when your browser leaks processing power and memory like mad, because the hardware can still handle it (at least for now). I guarantee that sometime in the near future 8gb won't be enough.

Hardware outpaces software but not in the way you think. Optimization of memory hierarchy and computational parallelism are still very raw, and then there's the whole word lengths thing. Light based computers should be interesting.

高鐵 isn't so bad I will be there Dec 5 - 15 but don't know when I will be available. I'll PM you soon.

I'm Taiwanese American, my parents are Taiwanese. Anyone interested in a meetup? I'll be there very soon.

I bought a refurb lenovo think pad for dirt cheap and put in a 500gb ssd probably close to 3 years ago, it still works fine and was already way cheaper than 700 all in. Every Dell I have ever bought or used has been garbage but the last time was like 5 years ago. Ymmv

The best way is to use solder paste and a hot air gun. Not sure how well it would work with a normal iron and solder but definitely don't flood the pad before putting on the transistor.

No real reason to decrease it, I think most people are running their Carbons at 450V anyway and you have a lot of extra input voltage with a 350VAC transformer.

Weird that I looked and found one in mine. the front panel is thick enough that you can potentially blind drill and tap. Pm me if you still want this done in January, I'll be out of town most of December.

That sucks about Antek. Arrow did the same thing to me. Actually they didn't even cancel the item until I asked why I didn't receive it, which I checked only because they had already been spotty/uncommunicative in the past. And if you have ever ordered from Arrow before, you know it is no easy task to keep track as they split your order up into a million shipments. The Antek transformers themselves seem quite reliable in my experience.
As to bias, I would rather err on the side of lower than higher.

Weird, maybe I just get lucky as it's like clockwork for me. Two days to ship, two days shipping, since my very first order or at least as far as I can remember.

I've always used standard priority mail with mouser and never had any problems with that. They do take two days to ship, but at least it's consistent.

Yup, I've experienced this too. The sound is less open with headrest, at least that's how it is at my place.
Don't know whether to laugh or cry.

Still, I don't see myself as delusioned person as far as audio goes.

But subjectively speaking I haven't yet heard a DAC which would be better than GG we share, everything else we've tried gets murdered and there were some fancy sources here alright.

Not sure if this is of any importance, but Golden Gate from this picture in particular is the one I use daily. It was upgraded to balanced version and got silver front changed to black one.
In any case, I previously owned two-box Level7 and moved from there. Yes, LampizatOrs aren't pretty inside. At least a good while ago (2 years back) that was the case, not sure how it is today. But this I know: this unit was purchased somewhere in September 2015 and it works flawlessly ever since. It's on duty eight hours a day, five days in a week and is never completely switched off. This is the best DAC I've heard thus far. Additional bonus is that LampizatOr HQ is about 15 kilometers from my place and the man who does them will do any fix needed if something bad happens. He's solid, I never had any issues when I wanted to upgrade my unit. IDK, maybe that's me only, but the ride thus far is enjoyable.
As for DAVE, it's a great DAC. I believe that I could be very happy with it. I never had an opportunity to compare it to GG. But after hearing it several times in various places, usually with Utopias, my bet is that it's less showy and not this feisty, hence different. Still, it seemed to be quite balanced sounding with no obvious downsides.
Just my two cents.
In addition, I see that people diss LampizatOr a lot here and, to be perfectly honest, I understand why. The company is still one leg into DIY and its price tags are heavy. Overpriced products? Quite possibly yes. But the most important thing for me is there, I enjoy what I hear.
Is that you, Łukasz?
Edit: just googled his username and found a shitty site selling shitty cables. Big surprise

Not trying to rant about doctors and the medical field in general or go into specific details, but I've been exactly where you have with so-called "specialists" and had a lot of doctors misdiagnose or tell me I'm fine. This seems like the case with pretty much everyone I know, with any category of ailments. In fact, the people who have claimed to specialize in certain sub-fields have generally been even worse because they are more confident about their misdiagnoses, just like with you. IMO it's always a good idea to find as many opinions as your wallet and patience will allow, because going to five doctors can easily give five different diagnoses.

Didn't realize just how ugly Cavalli amps were, not that I paid any attention to his products after hearing the Exstata at CJ'10 with the purple heatsinks.

Sinusoidal waves tautologically don't have harmonics. I have tried the same test a long time ago (not with a Carbon) and you will hear something, in the form of flapping noises.
