Amp enclosure suggestions.

Featured Replies

I am looking for a nice metal enclosure for a summer tube amp project. The requirements:

Size: Approx 12 X 12 X 3. This is a bit flexible, and it can be oddlong as well.

Material: Metal

Color: I would prefer black

Cost: I'd like to keep it about $50-$75. more toward the low end, though.

Par Metals has a 12 X 12 X 3 case...you can specifiy black as a colo if I'm not mistaken. It's one of their 20 series cases. You're probably going to pay more than $50-75 for it.

As far as I know the only choice in your price bracket will be Hammond enclosures (from the likes of Angela, Partsconnexion, etc.) and whether or not it qualifies as "nice" is debatable. I'm using one for my Aikdio project but it certainly won't be staying stock.

Par Metal is also the world's worst customer service. It will take forever to get the case ordered, delivered, and god help you if there's a problem.

I figured Par metal was out of the question. I don't think I want to spend that much on the case. The Hammond I looked into, shouldcost me about $40 with the botton. Just thought I would see if there was any other options. Thanks.
