So I got interested and emailed the guy for pricing. Turns out they're quite expensive, not surprising since they're handmade and quite tricky to get just right. Cost is £15,000 plus shipping. Gulp.

No kidding! I want one too. Cutting the slate just right would be the trickiest part I would imagine. Love the mathematics of it and the focus point. I think it would be something that people of all ages would enjoy and could become skilled at.

Depends on the wood. Pine would be soft, Walnut would be harder. ?
