November 23, 200718 yr So I went over to HeadRoom site to look for few things, and I can across blue Ety ER4 tips - http://www.headphone.com/products/accessories/headphone-replacement-parts/etymotic-er-4-small-blue-rubber-tips.php I may end up ordering them when I call them on Monday to order couple of things, but has anyone here tried them yet?
November 23, 200718 yr I haven't tried them, but thanks for posting this. They might work for me since I have small ear canals, I have to cut off the largest flange on the regular tri-flangles. The coolest part is that they wont turn yellow like the white flanges!
November 23, 200718 yr The "baby blue" hints at them being the same tips on the small "baby blue" version of the ER-20 musician's earplugs.
November 23, 200718 yr Author I've never had any fit issue with the standard tri-flanges, but it would be nice if the blue ones work as well (or better) and don't turn yellow.
November 23, 200718 yr Author They'll just turn green. Yellow + Baby Blue = Lime Green? Eww. If I get them and like them, I'll make sure to take some pics if they do turn gross green.
November 23, 200718 yr I like the idea of softer triflanges. The white ones were still a bit on the hard side.
November 24, 200718 yr I've never had any fit issue with the standard tri-flanges, but it would be nice if the blue ones work as well (or better) and don't turn yellow. You can buy gray tri-flanges btw. They are just like the whites except color. The grays turn yellowish as well, but they do not look so damn ugly and yucky.
November 24, 200718 yr never liked the triflanges myself, always preferred the foamies Ofcourse, Comply (slims for me) beats all. I haven't tried the olives.
November 24, 200718 yr Ofcourse, Comply (slims for me) beats all. I haven't tried the olives. i have to try some of those shure foamies someday
November 24, 200718 yr I ordered them. I like the seal of the flanges better, but the white were a bit too big for me. I've been using the Shure foamies which are fine, but it will be nice to try these out.
November 26, 200718 yr Author I ordered them as well. I'll see how I like them (or not) compared to the regular tri-flanges.
November 29, 200718 yr Author boomana, have you tried out the blue tips yet? I was hoping mine would be here today, but no luck.
November 29, 200718 yr Nope. I actually forgot. They're still sitting unopened. Thanks for reminding me. I'll go check them out now.
November 30, 200718 yr I've had these in for a couple hours now. Perfect comfort. Perfect seal. I forgot I was wearing them. This is a first. I have pretty small canals it seems. I had some mini foamies, but they were a bit too small. I've been using the Shure olives, but the seal wasn't as good as good as flanges, though I could wear them for a long time comfortably. The white flanges gave me the best seal and sound, but irritated. These feel as if they were made for me alone. Thanks, Salty. I wouldn't have known about them if you hadn't posted.
November 30, 200718 yr Author You're welcome. I'm looking forward to trying them - I should have mine today or tomorrow.
November 30, 200718 yr Author I received mine today and been trying them out for about half an hour now. My experience thus far mirrors that of boomana's. Though I've never had any real comfort issues with the regular tri-flanges, comparatively, the blue ones are much more comfortable and they provide just as good seal. Also, they're soooo much easier to insert than the regular tri-flanges. Later, I'm going to try out the K271 velours pads that also came in today.
