I've started noticing a certain amount of discolouration and and 'ragging' at the edges of the "pads". (as 010 owners know, "pad" is a bit of a misnomer)

What would you recommend for nourishing the 010 leather?

Mink Oil? I know you use that for nice leather shoes, don't know if you would still use it if it's for a surface that touches one's skin/head.

I've noticed if you clean it gently with a damp cloth, the red dye comes off on said cloth. heh. nice, right?

what color do you have? the red ones seem to fade a lot easier than the blue ones. mine (blue) seems to be in good shape so far, although I don't use it too much so that helps too.
