  1. Meh, for my HE90, I could have a K 1000, HP1 and Qualia 010... Oh wait... Best, -Jason
  2. The Zana didn't blow me away with the Qualia 010. But I'm looking for a certain sound from an amp and my 010. Also, I think I generally don't like the EMM source with it. The Zana is certainly worth much more investigation though. Best, -Jason
  3. Yeah, I agree with Yikes. It sounded good. Unscientific testing, but I put my hand on the B-52 while listening and it wasn't hot. As for cost, I don't see how it's inconsistent. Dynamight or GS-X are the cheapies of this class. Maxed out SDS XLR is the expensive one. The rest - B-52, balanced Maestro, balanced Max - just fall somewhere in the middle. Actually, now that I think about it, the balanced Grado amp is the cheapest. Best, -Jason
  4. Mikey, No IEM will have enough bass for you, Mr. PS-1 with flats. Best, -Jason
  5. Heh. I've gone through plenty of both. But lately JPN are more common than VTG. But that's probably just random. Best, -Jason
  6. Each woody is limited edition, the only question is whether they're limited by time or number. This is because audio-technica discontinues its lines so quickly. And unlike other manufacturers (e.g., Musical Fidelity) that do similar rapid releases and product life styles, the newer ATH-W models are often not improvements on the older ones. This functionally makes each woody a limited edition for purposes of acquisition and collectability. The only non-special woodies right now are the W1000 and W5000. But the latter will become special within a year or two, and the former, well, let's just hope it fades into history. Best, -Jason
  7. I'm a habitual editor of posts.. and just hit the 5 min limit on a few today. Dunno if it needs to be unlimited (tho I voted for that), but I'd like it to be at least an hour... Best, -Jason
  8. I've noticed if you clean it gently with a damp cloth, the red dye comes off on said cloth. heh. nice, right? Best, -Jason
  9. All I have to say is that pict rules. Best, -Jason
  10. I had an HP2, but sent that off to a good home. Then I got the HP1 and just got another HP2 recently. Best, -Jason
  11. It took me a while to appreciate the HP1000. I had heard Oski's at a mini meet and while I liked the Grado goodness, I far preferred my PS-1. Later on, I actually had an HP2 in my apt for a few hours and when I listened to them, only confirmed that I didn't understand what the big deal was. Still, it didn't prevent me from buying an HP1 because (1) I was lacking a good Grado since I sold the PS-1 and (2) I'm just a sucker for switches. But then I actually started listening to the HP1, it just sucked me in. The perceived lack of transparency, disappeared. They gradually became clear and a true and detailed representation of what the source material had to offer. The HP1000 has truly found its place in my collection of headphones. The HP1 won't be going for sale. My second HP2 on the other hand.... Best, -Jason
  12. Heh, I've been there, and I say why not? An old friend of mine, zChan on head-fi has the HD25-1, K181DJ and ES7 and tells me that the 181DJ's finally the one and he can stop searching.... Best, -Jason

    Paypal Fees

Passing the fee to the buyer gives them the option of having the additional payment method. Otherwise, I am indifferent as to cash, check or money order. Best regards, -Jason
  14. Naw, I agree. I've only heard them out of the Blingstro but man, the HD600 out of that thing just became a completely new headphone. I liked what it did for my Qualia 010, but it was just a nice sound while I found the results with the Sennheiser stunning. Doesn't surprise me it would be even more impactful with the SDS-XLR. Best, -Jason
  15. Oh man Hirsch, don't do it! My wallet couldn't take it. Seriously, if I had one of those babies, I'd need to get a balanced RS-1, HD600 (or HD650) in addition to a balanced cable for my Qualia... Best, -Jason
  16. I thought the Beyerdynamic DT 770's needed more bass... I'll vote for PS-1, only if it's the PS-1 with flats Best, -Jason
