For those who are choosing drives for their NAS, RAID, media server, or what have you, have a look at the BackBlaze Blog (they're an online backup company). They really like the Hitachi Deskstar 5K3000 HDS5C3030ALA630 3TB drive -- way lower failure rates than they're seeing with anything else.
