Deal or no deal?

So what do you guys (and gals) think? A Sony TTS-8000 turntable and Fidelity Research FR-54 arm for $1800 total including shipping. Yay or Nay?

Not for me. Despite I haven't ever tried that Sony TT, I wouldn't pay such money for any of their ones. IMO they never did one much better than a Technics or Denon. For 1800 you can get many well constructed things.

It's a good deal IMO, with the FR tonearms selling for insane prices by themselves. The TTS series of turntables are very rare outside Japan.(and pretty damn sexy) It would be worth every penny of the $1800.

Woah....hold on there. Sony put out some KILLER turntables that the mainstream don't even know about, and this is one of them.

The TTS series is on par with the best Technics like the SP-10 MK2, with some saying that they are better. This is a extremely well built broadcast quality table with a killer tonearm.
