December 2, 200619 yr Well, I'm looking for a CD transport that has AES digital out, because the coaxial input on my Lavry is already taken up by my computer. My budget is around $500.
December 2, 200619 yr It would probably be cheaper/easier to find a soundcard with AES output, like the RME Digi 96/8 PAD, and get a CD player with coax output. In the past, I've noticed people looking for CD transports with AES on a budget don't get very far.
December 2, 200619 yr Well, I'm looking for a CD transport that has AES digital out, because the coaxial input on my Lavry is already taken up by my computer. My budget is around $500. How about a Monarchy DIP. You can either get the non upsampling 24/96 model, or the upsampling 48/96 model, depending on your setup. Then you can use just about any transport with optical or standard coax out and convert it to AES, whilst reducing jitter and boosting the signal strength.
December 2, 200619 yr Disregard my previous statement, I think I misunderstood what the Monarchy does. D'OH!
December 3, 200619 yr IIRC, CEC CD3300 (or CD3300R) has one, and you should be able to find one under $500. I know nothing about its performance as a transport, though. EDIT - corrected the model number.
