^ I would happily lose to that guy. I played music at a local festival on Friday, and stayed all weekend for the partying and free food. My kids had a pretty good time despite it being really hot, and I discovered a local hurdy gurdy player who might want to put together some kind of music project with me. I'm currently really exhausted. I hope nobody comes into the office wanting to fight today, but I suspect that's not a reasonable hope.

Mostly the Rainbow Concert, plus some extras.

Just finished playing a three-night run of sold out Eric Clapton tribute concerts. I'm not a Clapton fan but it was fun. The afterparty was also pretty good.

Hey Antonio, have a great birthday!

Thanks all! The headphone stand is diamond willow. The base looks pretty rough because the only tools I used were sandpaper, screwdriver, and chainsaw.

I took the hardware off an old dresser unit I have in the basement. I figured I probably won't regret making that one drawer a lot less slidey. Four cuts with a hacksaw to make all the pieces the right length, rub the burrs off with a stone, and they were good to go.

Done! Aside from connecting everything and cleaning up the unholy mess that's all around it and then finally recording some music. The monitor risers are actually at the perfect height.

Eleanor and the kids are away, so I've been building a brutal recording desk. All rough 1x6 lumber, logged and milled here on the farm and exposed to the weather for way too long. When I move it downstairs I'll put the keyboard on a tray under the desktop. I think the monitor risers might be too high but aside from that I'm really happy with how it's turning out.

Most of the music I listen to is pretty happy and melodic, even if it sounds really aggressive to most people. We'll see what other people being to the table though.

Yeah, I'm really pumped to find someone who wants to write slightly heavier music. Most people where I live would rather play county and western covers.

Had a first jam with a guitarist friend tonight. I think we're going to get a few more people and make an original heavy band.

Tickets procured. Anyone want to come?
