Yup GH is the Stick Master... just figured I'd toss in the Levin reference as he's a bit more recognizable I've never tried a stick and am not much of a tapper, despite being somewhat passable on piano... what I'd love is one of those NS electric upright basses, which are SUPER fun to play!
  3. Sounds like an extremely useful kit, and 150mm on DX is of course pretty darn decent! Especially at f/2.8!
  4. f/2.8 doesn't hurt either......which lens is this? Not aware of a Nikon 50mm f/2.8 prime..... Sigma? edit: or one of those uber sexy ~$2k zooms!
  5. Veeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrry iiiiiiiiiiiiiiinteresting, I recall liking a few Eels tracks about ten years ago, will have to check that out and this Gomez business as well!

Check THIS shit out!! trivia: Tony Levin plays this thing, very notably on a bunch of early '80s Crimson and Peter Gabriel stuff...
  7. A little birdie told me that some guy in California who makes some really honkin' big amplifiers with thick aluminum faceplates and massive blue gauges on the front uses these available in terminated form here. SKU you want for 6' XLRs is "GAC-4/1-06NB" (NB = Neutrik gold pin plugs, NS=Neutrik standard, couple bucks cheaper per cable)... you'll need QTY 2 for L/R, total cost will be about US$58 plus shipping...
  8. I do like _How Dare You_ better... but this is pretty frickin' good!
  9. Well, it's in the same ball park I suppose... not as energetic and not as much instrumentation going on. This one came out in '93 so he was a fair bit older... either way I think it has some great tracks on it, and some not-so-great as well. I kind of put it in the same pile as a couple of mid-90's albums from Squeeze which I really like - Some Fantastic Place, and Ridiculous. Not as fun as the old stuff but has some great moments.
  10. Nice, DigiPete! How about a solo album from Haircut One Hundred's lead singer?
  11. it won't work, i have already told your wife... send the stax to me........ Seriously, I think the VK-D5 + SRM-717 + SR-007 Mk.I is going to be a KILLER CD rig! ENJOY!!!
  12. Congrats! I've been tempted by this and the SE more than a couple of times. Please report back on your impressions!
