  2. Oh I've wanted to Slappa you on a couple occasions.
  3. Happy Birthday!
  4. Me too, I'll be interested in trying it out. It'll simplify things for me, and take the job off of the Beta22's shoulders. It will also allow for hungrier speakers if I decide to quench my thirst for the AV123 Strata Mini.
  5. Nice Reks! So your speakers will be more than a clothes rack huh?
  6. Opera Audio Consonace A120 Linear Integrated Amp.
  7. I'd rather use mesh, as that's what the customer wanted, but thanks for the link, it may come in handy in the future. Nate that link proved very helpful, and I've ordered a piece. Thanks!
  8. Absolutely beautiful work Smeggy! Those are too cool! We need a drooling emotocon.
  9. Beautiful kitty!
  10. I've agreed to build some Sennheiser open wood cups, and I'm wondering if anyone has a good source for stainless steel mesh? I'm thinking of using #12 mesh, and only need a small amount, about 1 sq. ft.
  11. "I've made a small fortune and you squandered it all You shamed me till I feel about one inch tall But I thought I loved you and I hoped you would change So I gritted my teeth and didn't complain. Now you come to me with a simple goodbye You tell me you're leaving but you won't tell me why Now we're here at the station and you're getting on And all I can think of is... thank God and Greyhound you're gone Thank God and Greyhound you're gone I didn't know how much longer I could go on Watching you take the respect out of me Watching you make a total wreck out of me That big diesel motor is playing my song Thank God and Greyhound you're gone. Thank God and Greyhound you're gone That load on my mind got lighter when you got on That shiny old bus is a beautiful sight With the black smoke rolling up around the taillight It may sound kind-a cruel but I've been silent too long Thank God and Greyhound you're gone. Thank God and Greyhound you're gone..."
  12. Nate what headphones are you planning on driving with this monster?
  13. Do you have difficulties? I can give you a few pointers. I like to clamp the metal to a wooden sacrificial substrate, use a small drill bit to make a starter hole, and use only sharp hole saws. It also helps to use a drill press, but if one isn't available I use a big 1/2" drill with a handle. This one actually... The amp is looking great Nate!
  14. If a cable can be sexy that one is!

    Markl Mods

I'll one up that. Just send me your ears and I'll mod them flat.
  16. Happy Birthday!
  17. Never! It was horrible music, I'll give you that, but in my hometown anyway a guy who could dance was a guy who got laid. And I was a dancin' fool!
  18. My problem is not with the message, but the general delivery of said message.
  19. All great tips! I'd have done everything wrong, including trying to heat the pins instead of the wire. Thanks Nate! I may get brave enough to order the right tools and try it.
  20. The 70's has the distinction of simultaneously having some of the best and some of the worst music ever. It just doesn't seem possible that Midnight Rider, Magic Man, American Woman, Bohemian Rhapsody, Shine On You Crazy Diamond, Ballad Of Curtis Loew, Black Dog and Uncle John's Band could possibly be from the same decade as Billy Don't Be A Hero, Love Grows (Where My Rosemary Goes), Undercover Angel, Afternoon Delight, Da Doo Ron Ron, You Light Up My Life and Tie A Yellow Ribbon 'Round The Ole Oak Tree, but there you have it.
  21. I'd like to try my hand at a set of those, but I know I'd end up overheating the posts in the Senn. connectors and they'd move around. How do you heat them up enough to take the solder without melting the plastic? What soldering iron should be used, and any tips?
  22. Happy Birthday Mike!
  23. I'm with you. I keep an extra HD in my closet with a backup of all my tunes.
  24. I've been pretty happy with Woodcraft. I've gotten great service, and the wood I get from them has always been top notch too. Here is one in your neck of the woods...5963 Corson Ave. S.
  25. Personally I don't think Fitz charges enough. On a few occasions I've bumped his fee myself, just because I didn't think he valued his time enough. His cables are labor intensive, especially long runs with that really tight sleeving. I also sent him a free stand to try to compensate. I love trading out work, and if it's for something I can use I'll almost always say yes, but on the other hand I value my skills pretty highly. I guess that comes from running my own business for so long. However because of this I've been known to even double a few DIYers estimates when I thought the price they quoted me was too low. I guess I see both sides. I love to help out my fellow members, but there's nothing wrong with making a decent profit as long as your work is up to par.
