I know quite a few people at work that are perfectly happy with the 201's bannedfromheadfi. That's about the best recommendation I could give of them. I haven't heard them myself.

I would second mpd with a front-end, There a gui versions with fairly little dependency requirements. Thought Amarok is probably my favorite linux player. If your using Arch you could use kdemod to get that. That can get you Amarok with minimal bloat. Being that your an arch user, i'm assuming your familiar with it.

@moonshine, i would highly doubt it. It's not windows mobile or anything. you can just change themes. Could be wrong though. How reliable are hard drives in portables these days? I've always gone with flash as I abuse my portable pretty badly

Hah, was going for Damn,. Just sold my hf2, amp and dac all for it. Just wasn't too geeked with the hf2. The only thing that bums me out atm is the thought of waiting a month :(
